Shree Krishna in a very crooked manner says, “You know, Uddhav (Krishna’s close associate)...”
Uddhav says, “Yes?”
“...Hey, I want you to go to Braj (Krishna’s Divine land). So, you go to Braj and give those Brajwvasis (residents of Braj), the illiterate maidens of Braj, (those) ‘anguta chāp’ (thumb prints), (who) don’t even know how to sign their names, (and can) only (use) thumb prints. So go to those Brajvasis and give them gyān (knowledge). The gyān that you have, you give it to them.”
So what gyān does Uddhav have? Brahma gyān (knowledge of the Absolute). Remember? Aham brahmasmi (I am Brahman) and then soham soham (I am That).
So Shree Krishna says, “Go and give it to those Gopis (Divine cowherd maidens of Braj).
The third class of Gopis are the Vedic richas (hymns of the Vedas) - the richas of the Vedas. “And Uddhav, this is a secret that I’m just revealing to you.”
Shree Krishna does not tell this to Uddhav. But Shree Maharaji told us, so I’m telling you, I’m sharing it with you. The secret is that Uddhav received the brahma gyān through the Vedas - those Vedic mantras. These Vedic mantras, these richas, are personified in the form of Braj Gopis. The third class of Gopis are the Vedic richas in Braj.
So what Shree Krishna actually intends and wants Uddhav to do is to go and offer that knowledge, that gyān, back to the original owners of that gyān, from where he had received it. “Go and give it to them. From where you got it, return it, and then empty yourself of all the gyān.”
And then only can he receive premanand (bliss of Divine love). If he has this brahma gyān and any gyān, then there is no place to receive premanand. So that’s the actual secret.
But in a crooked manner, the Lord says, “Uddhav, I want you to go and give gyān,” which actually means, go and surrender it. That’s what it means. Go and surrender it to the Vedic richas from where you got the gyān.
But when the Lord says, “Go and give the gyān to the Braj Gopis.”
Uddhav thinks, “I’m going to go to Braj now. I’m sent by Shree Krishna. Yes. So I’m going to go as His personal aide, personal person, prachārak (preacher). And I’m going to give this gyān to these Gopis. In other words, destroy their agyān (ignorance).”
Are you listening to me? Destroy the ignorance of the Gopis? Think what this Uddhav is thinking, when he has already crossed even ahankar (ego). See the maya (illusion), how it’s there. Remember I told you mahat (cosmic intellect) and prakriti (material nature) cannot be crossed. So Uddhav is thinking this, and Shree Krishna says to Uddhav,
“Did you hear Me?”
And Uddhav says, “Yes, Sarkar (my Lord), I heard You.”
“So you heard Me right?”
“Yes, I heard You absolutely right!”
“So what did you understand?”
“I understood that I have to go and give gyān to the Gopis.”
Thinking in his mind, “I have to destroy their ignorance and make them wise, make them filled with Brahma gyān, the gyān which I have.”
“So you’ve understood right?”
Uddhav says, “Yes.”
And Krishna says, “Nonsense.”
He’s not understood anything. Well, the omniscient Lord knows exactly what Uddhav has understood. It’s a crooked way of sending him. Otherwise, he’ll object to going. “So let him go first and find it out for himself.”
