Radhe Name Overwhelms Krishna

Swami Nikhiladnand Ji

Her name is so powerful, Radhe, that sometimes Krishna cannot even say Her whole name. As He wanders the lanes (of Vrindavan), He utters “Ra,” because He is seeking Her, trying to find Her, so He calls out “Ra.” But before He can say “Dhe,” He has already fallen unconscious. Even if you misplaced a briefcase with a billion dollars in it, you probably would not long for it so intensely that you would fall unconscious.

In the world, we experience happiness, joy, longing, and sadness all within limitation. But in the Divine world, everything is unlimited. So the bliss that Krishna experiences in meeting Radha is unlimited, and the restlessness, the virah, (pain of Divine separation) that He experiences in separation from Radha is also unlimited.

Even Krishna, whose Divine mind has unlimited power and unlimited potential, sometimes, while meeting Radha, is unable to fathom that blissfulness, and He may become unconscious. And sometimes, when He is separated from Radha, even with His unlimited Divine mind, He is unable to control the feelings of longing to meet Her. That longing overwhelms His mind, and He becomes unconscious. Such is the greatness of Radha, and such is the greatness of Radhe name.

In the end, Kripaluji Maharaj, in the words of a devotee, offers a prayer to Radharani. He refers to Radha as an ocean of the nectar of Divine love, and He says,

“Please think of Me as one of Your own. Oh Radhe, I dare to ask You for this. Although the sSupreme God, worshipped by all souls and by all other forms of God alike, Krishna Himself worships You, and therefore You are the absolute supreme form of God. No one is above You or beyond You, and yet I am brave enough to ask You to make me Your own. Think of me as one of Your sakhis (intimate Divine companions). Think of me as one of Your gopis. Please accept me as one of Your own. This is my prayer to You.”
