The Realization Of Worldly Impermanence And The Quest For Sadhana

Sushree Braj Banchari Devi Ji

Despite the experience of millions of lives, and this life as well, we do not realize the real form of this world. We are experiencing every day that we accumulate everything in this world in hope of getting happiness, but instead we always get miseries from this world. Whatever we attain in this world is temporary. Everything is perishable. Nothing will go with us; we know all that.

Even then, when we are allowed to see anything in this world, and we get it, we feel, “It is mine!” It sounds like we are thinking that because it is my property, it is mine, as if it was also mine before, and it will always be mine.

Now, if you buy a new car, or somebody asks you,

“Whose car is this?”

“Why? It is my car!.”

We have so much ego about that, as if this car is mine now and forever. We don't know. It may be possible that tomorrow it will not be yours. Anything which we own could be someone else’s, next day, or any time.

Secondly, when we want to earn anything in this world, then, “janayak tyarjane dukkham.” In the beginning, when we are trying to buy something, we are trying to have something in this world, at that time also we suffer a lot, and then, “Tapayant vipat tisu.” All the matters of the world are destroyed, because everything is perishable in this world. It will be destroyed one day; so when it is destroyed, or stolen, or broken anything may happen. At that time again we are distressed, and when we have it, as our own property, we feel very happy with this thing. But what happens at that time when you have some property, “Mohayanthi jasam pattau.” Then, we are so deluded. We become so full of ego that we forget why we came into this world in the form of a human being.

Yesterday I explained that it is the best form. I mean of all the forms, including the form of the celestial gods. The celestial gods who have thousand times more power, beauty, everything, they are also desiring to attain human form, and we have attained human form, which is called to be Sadhana Dham. It is the abode of all kinds of sadhan. It means, we can attain anything, whatever we want, only by the attainment of this body.
