In many of these Siddhant Madhuri bhajans, we find that we are speaking directly to our mind.
“O mind, love only Shri Krishna. He is your only true friend.” Sakal jagat mahaṃ soi ek hai, saṇcho mīt tihar. (सकल जगत महँ सोइ एक है, साँचो मीत तिहार ।(Prem Ras Madira: Siddhant Madhuri #69)
“You only have one true friend in this whole world.”
People write, “He’s my BFF,” right? Best Friend Forever. So, this truly applies to Shri Krishna. Best - so out of all your friends in the world, the best is Shri Krishna. And forever, for all eternity, He is our best friend. This BFF title belongs only to Shri Krishna. Nobody else qualifies because even if they were the best, which they’re not, it wouldn’t be forever. So here, the ‘best’ part is explained by Shree Maharaj Ji. ‘Forever’. We understand that in every life. Just as we keep changing bodies, all the physical relations also keep changing. That’s the forever part. We don’t have a ‘forever’ with anyone in this world because our body keeps changing, so all the physical relations keep changing in every life. (There are) new relations in every life.
Whereas our relationship with Shri Krishna is constant because it’s a soul relationship.
But why, aside from the ‘forever’ part, why is He the ‘best friend’? Shree Maharaj Ji explains here, or we’re telling our mind in Shree Maharaj Ji’s words.
Why is Shri Krishna our only true friend? Je jag mīt mān (जे जग मीत मान)…Whoever we accept or believe to be our friend in this world, daṃpati sut (दंपति सुत) or that we have a very deep relation with them, like our spouse or our children, tin swārath ko pyār (तिन स्वारथ को प्यार)।. (It’s) a very blunt statement. They don’t love us; they love their self-interest.
Mahapurush tell the philosophy very bluntly - straight, clear, no beating around the bush. Don’t worry about politeness or hurting anybody’s feelings. This is the fact.
