The greatness of Sanatan Dharma

Swami Maheshvaranand Ji

Samoham sarvabhuteshu namedveshosthi Napriyaha. Chapter 9 verse 29. Neither is anyone dear to me, neither is anyone hateful. I look at everyone equally (samdarshi). He is the supreme court judge. He gives us the fruit.

Karmanyeva dhikaras te ma phaleshu kadachana, ma karmaphalahetur bhur ma te sangostvakarmani. Chapter 2 verse 47 Gita. God gives us the right of action (Free will). I give you free will. Do whatever you want. I've also given you my law books.

Law book? Yeah, yeah. Gita, Ramayana, Bhagwat, Bible. These are my law books. In these books I have said that if you do this action, you're going to get this fruit. You do that action, you get that fruit. It's up to you. So I give you the right to action. I give you free will but I do not give you the right to the fruit. You cannot determine the fruit. I determine the fruit according to your actions.

Punye punyalokam neti, pape na papam bhavya, meva manushyalokam. - Vedas
You do good actions, you get good fruits. You go to heaven. You do bad actions, you go to hell. You do a mixture of good and bad actions, you get this mrityulok. You come back in this material world, in this earth. You do neither good nor bad, you attain moksha (liberation). And you go beyond desire for moksha, you attain bhakti, the highest attainment. And I've told you how to get everything.

That's the greatness of Sanatan Dharma.
