Shri Krishna is the Ashray Tatva

Swami Nikhilanand Ji

अवतारा ह्यसङ्ख्येया हरे: सत्त्वनिधेर्द्विजा: । एते चांशकला: पुंस: कृष्णस्तु भगवान् स्वयम् । Avatārā hy asaṅkhyeyā hareḥ sattva-nidher dvijāḥ. Ete chāṁśha-kalāḥ puṁsaḥ kṛiṣhṇas tu bhagavān swayam

- Bhāgavatam

Bhāgavatam says that there are infinite, uncountable avatars. They are all like rivulets emerging from a Divine lake. And that lake is Shri Krishna. So all the avatars are Shri Krishna's avatars.

…कृष्णस्तु भगवान् स्वयम् ।
…Kṛiṣhṇas tu bhagavān swayam.

- Bhāgavatam

Maharaj ji explained. He gave a whole two hour lecture once just on this part of a shlok. He said, “Sab Bhagwan hai. Vishnu bhi Bhagwan hai. Shankar ji bhi Bhagwan hai. Sab Bhagwan hai, lekin Shri Krishna Swayam Bhagavan hai!”

So, They're not different from Shri Krishna, but He is ‘Swayam Bhagwan’. He Himself takes all these other forms. So, He is the Anshi, They are His Ansh.

We are also his ansh. To distinguish between us and Shri Krishna's other forms, His avatars, They are called Swānsh, Apnahi Ansh. And we are vibhin ansh. So we are distinct from Shri Krishna. We are not synonymous with Shri Krishna. But those other forms are synonymous with Shri Krishna. It's just Shri Krishna where He's partially revealing Himself. Internally, it's the same.

See, the DNA is the same all over a mango tree. In the root, in the branch, in the leaf, in the flower, in the fruit - same DNA. But if you chew on a leaf, do you get the same experience as when you chew on the fruit? So, internally, it's the same. You analyze it chemically, it’s the same DNA. So Brahma and Paramatma and Bhagwan are not internally different. It's a question of how that internal potential is manifested externally.

So, don't think, “Oh yeah, it's all the same!” You worship Krishna or you worship His any other form; it's all Krishna. What difference does it make? That's like saying, “What difference does it make? It's like I'll chew on this branch of a mango tree instead of eating the fruit!”

So, it does make a difference. Yes, it's all Shri Krishna, but if you want the supreme lusciousness of His Divine love, then you have to worship Radha Krishna. So that's why Shree Maharaj Ji has said here,

ब्रह्म के अनेक रूप गोविन्द राधे ।
Brahma ke anek roop Govind Radhe.

“He has infinite forms.”

But,

सर्वरूप आश्रय कृष्ण बता दे ।।
Sarva roop ashray Krishna bata de.

- Kripalu Trayodashi

“Shri Krishna is the Ashray Tatwa. All forms dependently reside within Him. He is the origin of all the Divine forms of God!”
