“I am Brahm. I am Brahm.”
Great! So you are not doing any sadhana, you’re not shedding any tears in longing for the Lord.
“Why should I? I am Brahm. Why shed tears? Why do sadhana? I am Brahm.”
Easy way out. People who are idle, who do not want to do anything, the lazy ones, they talk like this. And in Kalyug, there will be a lot more (people like this).
So that is why the Supreme Almighty Lord Krishna, when he descended 5000 years back, He said, “I better get this fight, this whole confusion taken care of. Otherwise, in Kalyug, it will be a very bad situation. Very bad situation.”
(In Kalyug) This ignorant, very small, little intelligence people will have a very short memory. And on top of this, this whole thing about this Brahm Gyan and being Brahm, will be very exciting to everyone. And then they don’t need to do any sadhana, any bhakti, no chanting of Radhey Radhey Radhey Radhey. In every breath of yours chant Radhey Radhey. All the time remember that the Lord is with you.
“No, I am Brahm. Why should I remember anyone? I am Brahm, you Brahm, everyone Brahm.”
So just go and teach everyone that I am Brahm, I am Brahm theoretically, practically remain where you are.
One husband used to go and teach around, everywhere, about Aham Brahmasmi (I am Brahm or absolute), Aham Brahmasmi, Tattvamasi (you are that), Tattvamasi, Aham Brahmasmi, Aham Brahmasmi. And then when you go on a very elevated level, then you find yourself - Soham (that I am), Soham, Soham, Shivoham (I am Shiva), Shivoham. Everyone is Brahm.
So the wife, she was getting very irritated about it. Because at home, he was no Brahm at all. So the wife thought, let me teach him a lesson. This man he goes on preaching everywhere, teaching everyone Aham Brahmasmi, I am Brahm, I am Brahm. And consider yourself to be Brahm as well. No problems, no issues, no complications in life. No doing of sadhana and no Saguna Sakara Bhagavan (the personified form of God). What is this Ram and what is this Krishna? Aham Brahmasmi.
So he is spoiling even those people’s devotion, those rare few, who are trying to build their love and devotion towards the Saguna Sakara form of God, the personified form of God. Towards Shri Krishna, towards Shri Ram, they are trying to build their relationship and practice devotion.
So the wife thought, I have to teach him a good lesson. So what she started to do, every day when she’d see the husband’s home, especially in front of him, she’d start to peep out through the window to the neighbor. And the husband one day, out of curiosity, wanted to see whom she is looking at.
So the wife was very focused and she was smiling and she was so thrilled to see this man who lived in the neighborhood, the next door neighbor.
So husband saw this happening day after day after day. So one day the husband said to the wife, “What are you doing?”
She said, “What am I doing? Can’t you see what I’m doing?” And then she was peeping out of the window again, looking at the man.
The husband said, “Why are you doing this?”
The wife said, “I love him.”
The husband went out of control. He said, “what?”
The wife said, “Hey, wait a minute, you are Brahm, I am Brahm, he is Brahm, everything is Brahm, everyone is Brahm. So just as I love you, I love him. You are Brahm, he is Brahm, I am Brahm, so what’s the problem with you? You go around teaching everyone that everyone is Brahm, so I’m just telling you the truth.”
The husband was totally out of control. He held his ears and took a vow - from today onwards, I’m not going to teach this lesson about I am Brahm.
