Practicing Devotion By Heart Means You Have To Remember The Form Of God

Sushree Braj Banchari Devi Ji

Practicing devotion by heart means you have to remember the form of God. We have been hearing this, that you have to practice devotion with the attachment of your mind and that is called in all the scriptures by all the Saints as well, that you have to do bhakti by mind means you have to remember God. The name was given to this kind of meditation or remember like meditation, remembrance, sumiran, smaran, etc, dhyan, there are many names of the same thing, but it was not clarified before in any scripture so far that what is the meaning of remembering God. We have no clear conception about what is remembering God.

Shri Maharaj Ji clarified it and said, “Remembering God means you should bring the form of God, you have to remember some form of God, with the help of the pictures or the murtis, etc.” And here a problem comes that if we are focusing on the basis of pictures and the murtis, etc, then these murtis, the form in these murtis or the pictures are made by the material beings. So though they have no idea of the Divine form of God. The form of God is Divine.

So number one, those pictures are made by material beings, so how can we have the idea of the real form of God which is Divine? And number two, our heart, our mind is also not Divine; it is also material. So when we remember God with the material mind even then we will get the material result of it. How can we attain bhakti, devotion, which is a Divine entity? Shri Maharaj Ji solved this problem also and he said, “When we practice devotion by heart, like we are trying to remember God's form with the help of any murti or any photo, then because God is omniscient and omnipresent as well, so He is sitting in our heart and He knows what I am thinking.” So if you are having this kind of feeling for that murti that this is not only a murti of stone, this is the real form of my God if you feel like that.

If you have no feeling that He is the real God, this is not only the murti. Shri Radharani Herself is sitting in each and every particle of this murti. See all the scriptures say unanimously, all the religions say unanimously that God is omnipresent.

There is not even one particle of this material world where God is not pervaded. He is omnipresent. So if you know that God is omnipresent then is He omnipresent leaving this murti only? He is present everywhere except this murti. If He is omnipresent then He is present everywhere. He is present in this murti and He is present in each and every particle of our body as well. Everywhere He is there.

So what we have to do is to think, we have to feel like this is the original form of Shri Radharani. It is the original form of Shri Krishna, and when we are having this kind of feeling then God who is sitting in our heart and who is sitting in each and every pore of the murti or the photo as well then He gives the result of having this kind of feeling for him.
