The kind of gyanis who are called paramhans, they always think about Shri Ram. They think about God; they enjoy the bliss of God all the time.
Ramante yogino ‘nante…
That’s why He is called Ram. ‘Ramante iti Ramaha’. He is contemplated by all the gyanis, amalātma, paramhans etc.
Parammhans means those gyanis, brahmanandis, the top-class brahmanandis, who know about what is good and what is bad, but they cannot be affected by anything of maya. This word comes from hans - swan.
जड़ चेतन गुन दोषमय भ्रह्म कीन्ह करतार ।
संत हंस गुन गहहिं पय परिहरि बारि बिकार ।।
Jhar-chaitan gun doṣhamay bhram kīnh kartār।
Sant hans gun gahahiṇ pay, parihari bāri bikār॥- Ramayan
They can see good and bad but like the swan, if you give him milk and there is water in the milk, the swan will drink the milk only and he will leave the water. In the same way, these paramhans know this world but they choose only the good things.
सीय राममय सब जग जानी
Sīyā rāmamay sab jaga jānī- Ramayan
They see only God everywhere and they enjoy. They are happy living in this world. They are paramhans.
There is one more category among the Paramhansas as well and Shree Maharaj Ji calls it Shri Paramahamsa. Paramahamsa and Shri Paramahamsa.
For example, when Shukdev Ji Maharaj came out of the belly of his mother; he was not coming into this world. When he came, he immediately left and he went towards the jungle. He went to the jungle.
Yaṁ pravrajantam anupetamapet-kṛityaṁ dvaipāyano virahakātar ājuhāv.
Putreti tan-mayatayā taravo ’bhinedustaṁ sarva-bhūtahṛdayaṁ munim ānato ’smi.- Bhagwatam 1.2.2
Ved Vyas is going behind him, “Son, son, Oh my son!”
He is calling him out but he is not listening. It was not so that he was deliberately not listening or was just avoiding. No, he was not listening. Why?
Because the Vedas are saying, “If there is dwait (duality), then someone can see or hear or think etc.”
But he has drowned in the bliss of Brahm, in the bliss of God, that’s why he was not hearing.
