The Philosophy of Oneness: Seeing God in Every Heart

Sushree Gopeshwari Devi Ji

In the initial state, we all are to believe and accept this philosophy that everyone is a devotee, a child, and a humble servant of Shree Krishna, of God. Everyone is His ansh (part). He is the Anshi (the whole of which we are part); thus, we are all humble devotees of God.

Nāstik (atheist), āstik (theist), whoever it may be, but everyone after all, is the ansh shakti (fractional power) of the sarva shaktimān Brahm (the all powerful God). That’s a general philosophy that each one of us should always remember and remind ourselves of so that we don’t swell up by thinking,

“Oh, I’m blah blah blah (this or that), I’m here, and he’s down there!”

No comparison. No superiority. Give respect to all and seek none. This will bring humility and a humble feeling into our hearts and minds.

Then the second level, the higher state in sādhanā bhakti, will take us to the experience that in everyone’s heart, in everyone’s antahkaran (heart), dwells my Shyamsundar (name of Krishna). So, every behavior, good or bad, is coming from my Shyamsundar. That’s a much, much higher state. We are not there (yet).

We should at least try to be at the level and state of reminding ourselves all the time that everyone is a humble servant of our beloved Lord. Everyone is a devotee of God. Treat everybody with patience, a humble heart, and good behavior.

But the second level is a very high stage in sādhanā bhakti, where one starts to enter into bhāv bhakti. That’s when this kind of feeling starts to come, when sādhanā (practice) becomes very ripened. Then we start to visualize our beloved Shyamsundar in everyone’s heart, (everyone’s) antahkaran.
