This devotee is saying (to me), “Maharaj Ji, I added ‘also’ many times, uncountable times, but I never added ‘only’ even once!”
If he had added ‘only’ just once—then…
क्षिप्रं भवति धर्मात्मा…
Kṣhipraṁ bhavati dharmātmā…- Gita 9.31
… that’s it, his goal would be achieved.
ये तु सर्वाणि कर्माणि मयि संन्न्यस्य मत्परा: |
अनन्येनैव योगेन मां ध्यायन्त उपासते ||तेषामहं समुद्धर्ता…
Ye tu sarvāṇi karmāṇi mayi sannyasya mat-parāḥ.
Ananyenaiva yogen māṁ dhyāyant upāsate.Teṣhām ahaṁ samuddhartā…
- Gita 12.6, 12.7
“Through exclusive devotion, when the mind is no longer attached to others, I take complete responsibility for such a soul.”
Look, understand the meaning of the word ‘other’. Who are the ‘others’?
There are only three eternal existences: God, soul, and māyā (material illusion). Understand this very carefully: God, soul, and māyā. There are only three eternal existences. So, either you will go either towards God or towards māyā. There is no third place to go. The third existence is only you. There is no third place where one could go. Either you will love the world or you will love God. That’s it, you only have these two paths.
So, if you desire God, then love God. If you desire the world, then love the world.
So, God’s law is, “Love only Me.”
What does this mean? Don’t love the world. That’s it. It’s a very simple thing. Don’t love māyā.
Māyā means māyic. Māyic means that which is related to māyā. What is related to māyā? Lifeless objects and living souls. The living souls are under the control of māyā, so they are also māyic, and māyic objects, lifeless objects, like this pillow, Earth, water, fire etc - all these are lifeless things.
