Last night we all chanted 24 hours of Hare Ram sankirtan (congregational chanting of the Divine Name) and that’s it. End. Now sleep. Don’t do any practice.
No. Constantly, continuously, the remembrance of the Lord.
Constant, continuous, no breaks. People take holidays from spirituality. That is really something that shocks me.
They will do a retreat, a spiritual retreat or sadhana (spiritual practice), and then they’ll say, “Let’s go for a holiday.”
Break from God? And what about from the world?
“Oh no, embrace them as much as you can.”
Attachment is so deep in the world.
So let us try to straighten our thinking. We do the very opposite.
We try to decrease the attachment from God. There is no attachment to begin with, and if there is a little bit which is built by practicing sadhana (spiritual practice), we also want to take a holiday and break from Him.
When it comes to the world, oh no, detachment.
“Well, after all, they are mine.”
They are yours? Your body is not even yours. What are you talking about?
So we’ve got to realize the truth that apart from the supreme almighty Lord Krishna, there is no one.
