Stop Blaming Fate

Sushree Gopeshwari Devi Ji

सो परत्र दुख पावइ सिर धुनि धुनि पछिताइ।
कालहि कर्महि ईस्वरही मिथ्या दोस लगाइ।।
So paratra dukh pāvai sir dhuni dhuni pachhitāi.
Kālahi karmahi Īshvarahi mithyā dos lagāi.

- Ramayan

As we keep performing action in the present life, even in the present moment. It all becomes your own fate. We are the makers of our destiny, of our fate. God doesn’t sit there and make our destiny. But when we become so miserable in life, we say, “Oh, God designed such a bad fate for me! And look at the fate of that person.”

Come on. Awake. Arise.

Take shelter at the lotus feet of a Mahāpuruṣh (great Saint) and learn the right thing. Don’t let your intellect tell you what’s right and what’s wrong. It’s ignorant.

It’s filled only with rājāsic (selfish) and tāmāsic (impious) guṇas (qualities). Sāttvic guṇ (pious) is not even predominant. Very rarely, sometimes, it may come to you due to your past good saṁskārs (impressions).

Otherwise, mainly we are predominant in rājasic guṇ, the selfish mode of emotion,or tāmāsic guṇ, the impious mode of emotion. But we will directly blame God, or our fate, or time. We will still not look at our own actions.

And that action, not physical actions, but mental actions. Remember, it’s your mind.
