The Gopi is saying,
“Dhanya chor siramor, mor piya. O mor piya!
Nand-sadan nidhi ratan sunat pai, chorat nij swabhāv te hāro.”
- Prem Ras Madira: Virah Madhuri 108
So her friend is saying, “Sakhi (friend), then what did He steal?”
“(He’s) so bad! As I told you, O lāṅgar (mischievous one), the trickster! He stole navanī (butter),” Navanī means butter. “Then He stole our dahi (yogurt, curd). Then He stole our ambar (clothes)!”
He stole the clothes of the Gopis.
“And not only that! He stole all my attachments, of all those people I am attached to in the world!“
This is the big thing; Shree Krishna steals. The attachment we have in the world; He steals everything.
Bhagwan Krishna says in Bhagawat Mahapuran.
… तं भ्रंशयामि सम्पद्भ्यो यस्य चेच्छाम्यनुग्रहम् ॥
… Taṁ bhraṁśayāmi sampadbhyo yasya cecchāmy anugraham.
- Bhagawat 10.27.16
Shree Krishna says, ”Those upon whom I shower My grace, I steal. I take away everything from them. I take away mother, father, wife, husband, children, wealth, health, beauty, status - everything!”
Ah, listen carefully here. Generally in the world, people think that when we get things in the world: somebody gets a good job, wins the lotto, has good children, husband is very good, wife is so loving and kind (then),
“Oh, Bhagwan is so merciful on me! He’s so kind! God has showered so much grace upon me!”
And if the opposite happens? You have a very bad wife, your husband gives you so much trouble, drinks alcohol and wants to beat you, or maybe does give you a beating, the children are very bad, or someone dies, someone steals all your wealth, steals your motorcar, etc. (then),
“Oh, Bhagwan is angry with me! I did something wrong!”
But Shree Krishna is saying, “No! This is My grace.”
This knowledge has to get firm in our mind.
