Two Daily Practices That Work

Swami Nikhiladnand Ji

The God-realized Saints have themselves followed the path to God and realized the ultimate goal. Then they can also guide us, tell us what we can do, what practice we should undertake to meet God. So we have to have faith in that Saint, and go and then follow the Saint’s teachings, and then we will see the results.

That’s also important to understand.

If we are following our Guruji’s instructions for how to do sadhana (spiritual practice), we should get results. And Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj basically tells two things.

(First): You have to do that ‘chalte phirte wali sadhana’ (remembrance practiced while walking and working), the practice when you are engaged in some kind of activity that you need to do in the world. But like he told us,

“Every hour you have to stop and remember Radha Krishna are with me.”

And then, throughout the rest of the time as well, try to maintain that conscious awareness that I’m not alone,

“They’re with me.”

But definitely, every hour, you stop what you’re doing and fully focus on that for a few seconds. So this is the one sadhana we follow as we’re busy in our worldly activities.

And the second sadhana is to take some time out every day to sit and only focus on Shree Krishna, which we do by doing roopdhyan (remembrance of the Divine form) while we chant kirtan. Doing roopdhyan means visualizing the form of Shree Krishna in your mind, meditating on His form. This is roopdhyan, and it is best done with the chanting of His Divine names.

This is the other practice as told by Shree Kripaluji Maharaj.
