So in sadhana (spiritual practice) over here, know that it’s raganuga bhakti: unconditional love. No bhukti (material enjoyment). No mukti (liberation).
And the most important thing to practice sadhana is chanting, chanting the name of the Lord with the faith that God resides in His name. And most importantly, the sadhana needs to be done with the mind attached to God. That is what we need to try to practice.
“My mind doesn’t get attached.” Don’t say this.
We are not siddh (perfected beings). We are not perfect personalities whose minds would get attached (to God). We are sadhaks (spiritual practitioners). We are aspirants. We are seekers. Why would our minds get attached to God and Guru? It will surely get attached to the world. It is already attached there and loves the world because the mind is mayic. So try, try.

Asanśhayaṁ mahā-bāho mano durnigrahaṁ chalam.- Gita 6.35
Without doubt, the mind is very wandering in nature. It flickers. It wanders. It doesn’t get fixed. It doesn’t get attached to God. But abhyās, practice, practice, practice getting the mind attached to God. So this ongoing practice of getting the mind attached to God, is the practical aspect of our devotion that you and I, we all, are here to practice, to do.
This is the practical sadhana and try to be very serious about it.
