Before a soul is qualified, there’s no benefit in receiving that vision of God. Why are we unqualified? Because we have mayic (material) senses and a mayic mind. Therefore, we can perceive mayic things and that too within certain parameters.
The electromagnetic spectrum is only visible to us within a certain range. We can’t see ultraviolet light and we can’t see infrared light. We can only see the ones in between. So even within the field of maya (the material energy), our senses are so limited, and God is sat-chid-anand (existence-knowledge-bliss absolute). He is beyond maya.
चिदानंदमय देह तुम्हारी। बिगत बिकार जान अधिकारी॥
Chidānandamay deh tumhārī. Bigat bikār jān adhikārī.- Ramayan
Tulsidasji says, “You have to be qualified in order to see God really.”
I explained to you that even during Shri Krishna’s avatar (decension) or any avatar of Bhagwan (God), if any ordinary soul were to come in front of God, we would not have the experience like King Janak did where he was instantly drowned in Divine bliss. Because we are not qualified like he was. He already had a Divine mind. He was immersed in the bliss of formless God, and he was already beyond maya. So when he saw Bhagwan Ram (Lord Ram), God in His personal form, he instantly experienced and perceived the Divine beauty which is unlimited, ever-new, ever-fascinating.
And if the same Shri Ram or Shri Krishna were to appear before us, we would not be fascinated. We would not feel bliss. We would be bored. Because we don’t have the right eyes. We need Divine eyes to see Him.
So His appearing before us would actually undermine our faith in Him. Because our reaction would be, “Oh, this is what all the Saints are talking about? What’s the big deal?”
So there’s no benefit in God just appearing before us.
