Neku de mākhan, o Brajanār.
Shyam Sundar is asking for butter from a Gopi, “O milkmaid! Give Me a little butter!”
Chalu haṭu chhāṁḍu, gail bhal āyo, mākhan chākhan hār.
The Gopi replied, “Go away! And move out of my path! Taste my butter indeed!
Mākhan chākhan ke pūrab ṭuk, darpaṇ mukhahiṁ nihār.
Before tasting my butter, take a look at Yourself in the mirror!
Nav lakh dhenū Nand Bābā ke, tabahuṁ banyo baṭmār.
In spite of the fact that Nanda Baba has nine lakh cows, You go around stealing yoghurt and butter!
Sab kārī karatūt tihārī, sab jānat saṇsār.
The whole world knows of Your dark deeds.
Jāy kahūṁgī Nandarānī pai, toy lagāve mār.
Go away or else I will complain to Mother Yashoda and You will get a beating instead of butter!
Pratham ‘Kripalu’ khāuṁ mākhan tab, khāuṁ mār baldhār.
Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj says, “Shyam Sundar cheekily replied, ‘First feed Me the butter so I can have the strength to take the beating!’”
