We’ll finish today’s satsang (spiritual gathering) with a little bit of chanting and meditation. When we do the kīrtan (devotional chanting), we should use this opportunity to absorb our mind in thinking of Radha Krishna. We have this beautiful shrine in front of us to help us understand what God looks like.

This is one of the great teachings of sanātan dharm (eternal Divine path): that God has a form and God can be seen. You can meet God in this form, but to qualify to meet God, we have to purify our heart. Once our heart is fully purified, through God’s grace, we’ll receive His Divine vision.

So to reach that point of heart purification, we have to join our mind with Radha Krishna, and we do so by meditating on Them. The meditation is very simple. We call it roopdhyan (meditation on the Divine form).

Just look at the shrine, see what Radha Krishna look like, and then close your eyes and try to imagine Their same form in your mind. Keep doing this process, and when you’re thinking of Radha Krishna in your mind, bring Them out of the shrine so They are real, live Radha Krishna right in front of you. Try your best to do this, and Krishna will grace you for your effort.

So let us do a few minutes of roopdhyan along with kīrtan to help keep our mind focused.
