Kahūṁ main, kāsōṁ man kī bāt.
(A Gopi, who has fallen in love with Krishna, is saying:) I don’t know to whom should I say the feelings of my heart?
Mohini roop haryo Manmohan, un binu jiya ghabarāt.
The loving face of Manmohan Krishna has stolen my heart and now I am totally restless without Him.
Sakhiyan manahūṁ hot kachu saṇśhay, bātan mohiṁ janāt.
My friends appear to be doubting me as it shows from their secretive talks and the movements of their eyes to each other.
Lok lāj bairini bhai morī, dharūṁ dhīr kehi bhāṁt.
The family prestige is in the way of my love. (If people discover my love for Krishna it would be a stain on my family name. So I can’t just go to Krishna and meet Him, and if I don’t see Him) I don’t know how to hold my patience.
Dṛig jhari lāy kahat kab dekhūṁ, sundar shyāmal gāt?
My eyes are always flooded with the tears of longing and are impatiently desiring to see the beautiful body of Krishna.
Uṛan chahat binu paṅkh paṁkherū, parbas uṛi na sakāt.
My situation is like that baby bird who is eager to fly, but his wings are still ungrown, so he is helpless.
Din nahiṁ chain ‘Kripalu’ ek chhin, kāl nishā sam rāt.
Without Krishna, every moment of the day is unbearable and every night is like a dreadful night for me.
