Whatever Guru does is only for my benefit. This is prapanna (one who has surrendered). That’s the kind of faith. Arjun didn’t have that. Arjun kept saying,
“But, but, but, I cannot perform this action.” Bhagwan (God) said, “Arjun, who are you going to kill? Do you know who you are? This body belongs to you, Arjun.”
Whatever belongs to us cannot be us. Somebody says,
“This is my house.”
Somebody says, “This is my morukha.”
Nobody says, “I am the house,” or “I am the morukha.”
In the same way, my body. My body is paining. My head is hurting. My finger got cut - My body. So, I am not the body. The body belongs to me. Then what am I? The soul, which is imperishable.
न जायते म्रियते वा कदाचिन् नायं भूत्वा भविता वा न भूयः।
अजो नित्यः शाश्वतोऽयं पुराणो न हन्यते हन्यमाने शरीरे॥Na jāyate mriyate vā kadācin nāyaṁ bhūtvā bhavitā vā na bhūyaḥ.
Ajo nityaḥ śhāśvato ’yaṁ purāṇo na hanyate hanyamāne śharīre- Gita 2.20
Bhagwan Krishna says to Arjun, “The individual soul does not take birth, nor does it die, nor, having come into existence, does it cease to be because it is unborn, eternal, and most ancient. It is not destroyed even when the body is destroyed.”
Look, God is not senior to us in the world. It’s impossible that the parent, the father, and the child is the same age. Somebody comes to you and says,
“This is my son.”
Okay.
“And we are the same age.”
Impossible.
But in the spiritual world, God, the Supreme Father, the father of the soul and the soul are the same age. God is not senior to us.
द्वा सुपर्णा सयुजा सखाया समानं वृक्षं परिषस्वजाते।
तयोरन्यः पिप्पलं स्वाद्वत्त्य् अनश्नन्नन्यो अभिचाकशीति॥Dwā suparṇā sayujā sakhāyā samānaṁ vṛikṣhaṁ pariṣhasvajāte.
Tayor anyaḥ pippalaṁ svādvatty anaśhnannanyo abhichākaśhīti.- Śhvetāśhvatar Upaniṣad 4.6

सुपर्णावेतौ सदृशौ सखायौ यदृच्छयैतौ कृतनीडौ च वृक्षे।
एकस्तयोः खादति पिप्पलान्नम् अन्यो निरन्नोऽपि बलेन भूयान्॥Suparṇāvetau sadṛishau sakhāyau yadṛichchhayaitau kṛitanīḍau cha vṛikṣhe.
Ekas tayoh khādati pippalānnam anyō niranno ’pi balen bhūyān.- Bhagawat 11.11.16
In Bhagwad Gita, Bhagwan Krishna is speaking to Arjun. In Bhagwat, we have Uddho Gita. Shree Krishna is speaking to Uddho. The gist of it is that both God as well as the individual soul are unborn, eternal, beginningless. Never had a beginning, will never have an end.
