There’s no other way.
When we realize there’s no one and nothing in the world for us, then we will take shelter in Prabhu (God). He gives shelter to those who have no shelter.
So Vibhishan decided,
“Let me go and take shelter in Shree Ram.” So he’s going to Ram. He’s crossed Lankā (the kingdom of Ravan) and the ocean. And here Ram is preparing to go. He came to the shelter. So everyone sees this Vibhishan. This is Ravan’s brother. He’s the enemy. He’s a spy. Duśhman (enemy) hai. So everyone is saying,
“Throw Him in the jail. Bāndho (tie him up)!”
“Tie Him up! Throw him in the jail!” Everyone is saying.
Now Shree Ram is looking at all that’s happening, smiling. So Ram said to Sugreev. Sugreev is the general of the army. So He calls,
“Sugreev, idhar āo (come here)! Look Sugreev, if I were to bend the tip of my little finger, the uncountable rākṣhasas (demons) in the uncountable universes will die.”
Arey, yeh bend kya karna (Hey, what is this bend)? All Ram has to do is think and all rākṣhasas (demons) die.” This is His power, satya saṅkalpa (the Divine will that manifests instantly). He just thinks, and it happens. Soch liyā (just by thinking), the whole creation comes into being.
“So what is this one rākṣhas (demon), Vibhishan?”
Not only that He says, “Listen Sugreev,
निर्मल मन जन सो मोहि पावा। मोहि कपट छल छिद्र न भावा॥
Nirmal man jan so mohi pāvā. Mohi kapaṭ chhal chhidra na bhāvā.
“Sugreev, to come to Me, no one can come just like that. Only those who are nirmal man (pure heart), śhuddh man (pure mind), can come to Me, attain Me, see Me. I cannot tolerate deception, deceit, fraud. (In other words), If Vibhishan was not a pure bhakt (devotee), he could not have come to Me.”
This is what Ram proved who Vibhishan is.
We make a big, big mistake. We look outwardly, we judge.
