Shree Krishna descended to teach us, to tell us, and to implant in our hearts about true-love, devotion to God, unconditional sachaprem (pure Divine love). So, Shree Krishna becomes this embodiment of love only, with no aishwarya (Divine majesty and opulence). When He is going to be in Braj (the sacred land of Krishna’s childhood pastimes), it will be only that form of His.
So, He becomes one with Vasudev (Krishna’s father), Krishna, and when Vasudev actually enters, he sees only the girl. So, he picks up the girl, and this girl is Shree Krishna’s anuja meaning thereby younger sister. Both the Krishnas were born at the same time, but when Vasudev had already started going to Nanda Baba (Krishna’s foster father), that’s when the kanya (girl child) came out.
The twins came, but with a little bit of a time difference. Shree Krishna came to Yashoda Maiya (Krishna’s foster mother). He appeared through Yashoda Maiya, He just appeared at Yashoda Maiya’s house, I should say, because He never goes into the womb of any mother, and at the same time as Devaki, (Krishna’s biological mother) Krishna appeared. So, both of them gave birth to Krishna at the same time, precisely.
And then, as Krishna is being brought by Vasudev, the anuja, the little sister, is born who is adishakti (the primordial Divine energy), Durga Ma. So, this Durga Ma is Shree Krishna’s own shakti (Divine energy). There is no difference, no difference.
People think, “Oh, they are only worshipping Radharani (the Divine soul beloved of Krishna).”
She is the supreme embodiment - shakti. Every shakti comes from Her and every shakti in the masculine form, the sarva shaktiman (the possessor of all powers) form of Shree Krishna comes from Him. That is why He is known as swayam Bhagwan (the original Supreme Lord). Thus, this swayam Bhagwan Shree Krishna is to be loved, is to be worshipped.
So, in devotion to God,
स वै पुंसां परो धर्मो यतो भक्तिरधोक्षजे ।
Sa vai puṁsāṁ paro dharmo yato bhaktir adhokṣaje.
Bhagawat 1st Canto, 2nd Chapter, 6th verse, and 7th, etc., it says that (as) human individual souls what should we do? This is the question that Shaunak Ji (a sage in the Bhagwatam) asked Soot Ji Maharaj (a narrator of the Bhagwatam) in the Bhagwat Mahapuran.
Soot Ji Maharaj, in explanation, or rather Ved Vyas (the compiler of the Vedas and author of the Bhagwatam), in his own words, is saying that it is, devotion to God, Divine love devotion to God that should be exclusively practiced by human individuals.
Then where does all this stand? The practices of jap (repetition of the Divine name), tap (austerity), vrat (fasting), puja (ritual worship), etc. It has no meaning whatsoever in this time and age of Kaliyug (the current age of spiritual decline), because the proper way is not known, and the proper manner nobody can even do all these practices correctly. When we do all these practices, we will still not do them with that devotion that is needed.
So first, get the devotion. And then do whatever you want to do: jap, tap, vrat, puja. You will automatically then come to know whether you want to do all that or not. These are just helpers. Because the main core is to love God, to practice that devotion to God, that Divine love devotion.
