Worldly people want that the mind should not be attached only to God.
There was a son of a wealthy businessman. He went to listen to a lecture about Harishchandra. “One should be truthful. There is no sin like lying” So the son came to his shop and started selling things at cost.
His father was sitting there. He asked him, “What are you doing? Is something wrong with you?”
He said, “No, no. I went to listen to a lecture.”
“To listen to a lecture?”
“You said I should go listen.”
“So?”
“So he said, “One should tell the truth, otherwise one will go to hell. By telling lies, one goes to a hell called Aveechi.”
“You fool! Do you have any common sense to listen to a lecture? When you listen to the lecture, sit like this (Shree Maharaj Ji shows spreading a cloth stretched to collect something in one’s lap.) (and say,) “Come, come, come. And when you leave, do like this. (Shree Maharaj Ji shows like he’s flapping the cloth so the contents are scattered.) "Don't spoil your family life! Stay within your area. Pretend on the Divine side, be attached on the worldly side.”
This is what worldly people want.
God says to act in the world and be attached to Him. The mental attachment is exactly the same. Now what do you want? Think. Do you want Divine happiness, liberation from the world, Divine love? Do you want Divine love? Then accept Him. If you want to wander in 8.4 million life forms, and if you are not tired of all the insults and beatings and you want more, then accept ‘others’ (in the world). That's it! It’s a very simple thing to understand.
So, God says, “I am not stopping you from loving those of My area. If you love My Saints, you will have loved Me a thousand times over. I want you to love only My Saints, do not love Me. I will grace you. But don't love the world.” Remove ‘also’ from My area and add ‘only,’ That’s it. Your goal will be attained.
This one word is so special that for uncountable lifetimes you have been bound in the cycle of birth and death, experiencing sorrow, and you are not using ‘only’ for God.
Now, agree to this and use ‘only’.
