Sushree Braj Banchary Devi Ji, one of the foremost disciples of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, was born in the Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Her father, Shri H.P Mahabani was an intimate devotee of Shri Maharaj Ji and was well known for his devotional nature. Shri Maharaj Ji had lived in their home from 1945 till 1957 like an ordinary family member. Didi Ji had the immense fortune of growing up in the close, most holy association of Shri Maharaj Ji from her infancy.
Didi Ji grew up to be a brilliant student. By Shri Maharaj Ji's instructions, she earned a double MA in Sanskrit and Music. She was then a Sanskrit professor at a college for many years. In 1978 Didi Ji immersed herself in the study of the intricate Vedic scriptures under Shri Maharaj Ji's guidance. Miraculously she completed this study merely in the span of four months! On the auspicious occasion of Sharat Purnima in 1978, Shri Maharaj Ji blessed Didi Ji with the service of propagating His philosophy. Since then, Didi Ji has been travelling to various countries including the United States, Canada, Ireland and India propagating the eternal philosophy of Sanatan Dharm as expounded by her Guru, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj.
